Nowrooz Shawl

About the pattern
The Nowrooz Shawl is a combination between a triangular shawl and a cardigan. The shawl is knit from the top center and worked outwards, after a few repeats, stitches are increased for the sleeves/ front.

The sleeves are cast off and the body is knit back and forth. The Nowrooz Shawl is meant to be worn oversized as a comfortable wrap that stays on your shoulders and keeps your upper arms warm.

Sizing
Sizing can be adjusted by changing the gauge and the number of stitches cast on for the underarm. The pattern is shown in a large version, knit on 4,5mm needles (yellow) and a small version knit on 3,5mm needles. The large version has 4 repeats added for the underarm, the small has none. The length of the shawl can be adjusted as well, it can be made shorter or longer.

The shawl is knit using two yarns held together, a fingering weight yarn and a fuzzy, mohair silk yarn.

For the small version (depending on the stitches cast on and the length), about 750-800m total is used, for the large version 930-980m is used. The yarns are held double, so be sure to have this amount per yarn.
