Info Our Mina Dyeworks yarns are dyed in our shop in Utrecht by my mom Mina (read: meena). The yarns are treated with love and care, and are dyed in a smoke and animal free environment. We use acid dyes that are lightfast and leave the yarns in the dye baths until all the dye has been absorbed. The aftercare process is where we wash the yarns and make sure all the residue dye has been cleaned off. Even though we do our utmost to make sure the yarn doesn't bleed, not all dyes are made equal and some may bleed even after all this effort. So we advise to wash the finished items with cool water (30 degrees max) with similar colors, either in the machine or by hand. Dry flat. The acid dye we use has an Oeko-Tex 100 certification and is not harmful to humans, animals and/ or nature. We dye using citric acid and vinegar.
